Former third grade teacher, School District Computer Coordinator, Gifted Coordinator, gymnastics coach, Destination Imagination coach, and Apple River Soccer Club Director 

"My job is to manage a non-profit program that assists seniors and disabled to stay safely in their homes.  We are always looking for caring volunteers who want to make a difference in their community.  Our program needs continual financial support from individuals, families, churches, businesses, and foundation to help our neighbors in Polk County."

"I am part of the 'sandwich generation' that is caregiving for my parents long distance while caring for my own family at home.  There are many challenges when helping parents transition from being independent to being able to ask for help with some of the small chores."

• Kay Foulke, Volunteer Coordinator (started May 1, 2006 and currently works 18 hours per week)

Kay is a retired nurse with a background in hospice and working at another Faith In Action program.  She spends a lot of time on the phone matching clients and volunteers. 

• Muriel Pfeifer, Program Assistant (started March 24, 2008 and currently works 20 hours per week)

Muriel is a retired special education teacher and spent years matching foreign exchange students to families in Wisconsin.  She and Kay spend a lot of time on the phone helping volunteers and clients.  Muriel also helps with publicity.

• Office Staff  - Joanne, Nancy and Jeanne help with answering phones and keeping us organized. 

• Office volunteers - Marilyn, Patty, Jean, Sue, Rita, Mary and Norma

  Volunteers are always welcome in our Balsam Lake office.  Come once a week, once a month or on an as needed basis.  Computer skills aren't necessary to help, but we will train if you're interested in learning.   We'll find a job that you'll love to help us with!
