Caregivers works cooperatively with the American Cancer
Society - Road to Recovery Program, to provide regional
transportation for cancer patients to daily radiation and
chemotherapy. In 2006, Interfaith Caregivers volunteers transported cancer patients 7,000 miles for radiation and chemotherapy! Our most common destination is Wyoming, MN, but we have transported to Maplewood, the Twin Cities, and Eau Claire WI. Despite record high gas prices, our volunteers donated these service without cost to clients! Interfaith also coordinates closely with Polk County Aging Programs volunteer drivers. Together we provide a patchwork quilt of volunteer drivers and family and friends. A cancer client must be able to get in and out of the vehicle without assistance. Please call in advance to arrange transportation. Several days notice is appreciated. Contact the Interfaith Caregivers Office to learn more at (715)485-9500.
